Small campground with 35 tightly packed sites.

Talkeetna RV Park in Talkeetna, Alaska, is a small campground with 35 tightly packed sites next to noisy train tracks. The biggest issue was the bathrooms and showers, which weren’t terrible but clearly lacked proper cleaning and attention. On the positive side, it’s an easy walk to town and close to the airport for Denali flight tours. Overall, it’s an average spot that could use better upkeep.

Spectacular scenery and views.

Talkeetna camper park was quite adventurous, lots of side trails and spectacular scenery and views. This town is location at the end of a 14 mile road of the Talkeetna spur highway. We stopped by one of the local shops where we purchased spinach bread that was recommended by a local here and it was amazing. Waiting on our turn to fly out to Mount Denali at 20k feet plus hoping for great weather to land on the side of the Denali mountain.

A nice well kept place.

A nice well kept place to stay but as mentioned, beware of the trains. Our kids loved being able to watch them but other people my not appreciate the experience as much. Bathroom, laundry and shower facilities are clean and in good condition. Easy walking distance to downtown also. Good job!

There’s also laundry.

One of the only spots with electric and water hookups! No individual fire pits. The shower has hot water & great water pressure but you do have to pay $2 per 4 minutes. Worth it! There’s also laundry. The scenery is not great which is why I have only 4 stars – you’re right on the road and the train tracks with little space between plots. Overall loved the town though!

Nice but fairly compact.

Nice but fairly compact, great facilities for the RV. The staff were friendly, showers (coin operated) were hot and clean. A lot of mosquitos there but that can’t be helped. Short and pleasant walk into town. The train stops right outside which was lovely to see.

Staff very friendly.

Sites are tight but overall the facility is clean and staff very friendly. Located close enough to walk to downtown Talkeetna. Two awesome parks are located within walking distance for children. Would stay here again! We enjoyed our 3 day stay.
