River Oaks RV Park is a privately owned, year-round campground situated along the scenic Des Moines River near Hartford. It features approximately 90–103 spacious full-hookup RV sites (plenty of pull-throughs) accommodating rigs up to 65 ft. Rates start around $30/night with an average near $48, and extended-stay or seasonal arrangements are welcome. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, 50-amp service, water, sewer, dump station, picnic tables, fire pits, laundry, showers, recycling, and trash disposal. Recreation abounds with a stocked fishing pond, direct river access (boat ramp nearby), miles of biking/hiking trails, bird-watching, and a playground. RV storage is offered in winter months, and RV rentals are coming soon. Open year-round, it’s a top choice for families, big rigs, and long-term guests seeking a tranquil, well-equipped riverside escape in central Iowa.

Very nice campground

Very nice campground, with large shaded sites. Shower house and bathrooms were the nicest ones I have ever seen. The only downside was the gravel road to get there. But was worth the drive.

Fantastic RV getaway

Fantastic RV getaway. I am here for work for a few months and I’ve got to say this is a beautiful place. Not very often I get to stay in the parks that have more of a vacation feel than just a pad site with hookups in my line of work. Very accommodating and helpful. Reasonable prices and great amenities.

Beautiful campground

Beautiful campground! Very quiet and nice. You have to go down a long gravel road to get here but it’s wide and well maintained. The shower and laundry facilities are nice. The spacing between sites is PERFECT!! Not too close at all (our favorite part). We love the trees for the shade, but some limbs were an issue coming in. The big trees are especially scary during storms. The site we reserved was taken however my husband didn’t pay the $30 to save it so I do suggest that. We were given a less desirable spot right by the office with no WiFi. We requested to be moved since we’re here for 2 months. We got moved to a much better spot however it wasn’t level so we scrubbed our exhaust pipe for the generator on the ground. Overall we really like it here and would recommend!!

The RV park is very unique place

The RV park is very unique place. It is in nature, with lots of trees, quiet, big spaces and greenery all around. The people there are very nice! We needed some help to take care of our dog, and Tina, Karen and Mike were there to assist us! We are so grateful, and will never forget them. We wish we had more time to spend there.

We absolutely loved staying at River Oaks RV park

We absolutely loved staying at River Oaks RV park. From the last minute reservation, to the kind and helpful staff, to the beautiful well kept grounds, to the quiet and fresh air, and to the spacious camping spots; everything was wonderful! We saw a spectacular fireworks show on Saturday night too! We are from upstate NY and if we make it back to the beautiful state of Iowa , we will stay here again! What a blessing to find such a treasure!
