Nestled just west of Lansing, Red Barn Campground & Restaurant is a privately operated RV destination set around a trout-rich stream in the scenic Mississippi River Valley. With roughly 110 RV sites offering 30/50‑amp full hookups on gravel/grass pads, campers enjoy picnic tables, fire rings, and easy access to tent camping (add‑on site fee applies). Rates are $39/night for RV sites, while rental campers and cabins range from $55 to $119. The park includes a dump station, water fill, and fish-cleaning station and sells firewood; all sites include access to restrooms and showers through the adjacent restaurant. Pets are welcome on leash, and quiet hours ensure serene evenings. Recreation centers on trout fishing right from your campsite and relaxing in the restaurant/barn a converted early 1900s structure offering food, drinks, and community ambiance. Ideal for families, anglers, and overnight travelers, it provides a rustic yet well-served Iowa camping experience without long-term stay options.

Good food right on the campground

Good food right on the campground. We sat on the deck. They let us bring my brothers dog up to sit with us. Everyone enjoyed their food

Great camping area

Great camping area!! Good food at the bar. Plenty of entertainment for the kids. They have a fantastic trout stream on the grounds. Close to the river.

Great restaurant, great people and a great little place to camp

I don’t want to give this place away to everyone. But, it is great. Great restaurant, great people and a great little place to camp. And I hate camping, so this is saying a lot for me. Can’t wait to come back. Oh, the restrooms are super clean also.

Great camp ground well maintained

Great camp ground well maintained. The creek is always well stocked. Best bloody Mary’s in town. The owners are very friendly and the daily special are good. Great campground to bring your kids has a mini golf corse basketball hoops a playground and trout streams and bar and grill right in the campground and has rental campers for someone who wants to get away but don’t want to sleep in a tent.

The bar is Beautiful!

Stopped in for dinner to kick off the 2022 camping season. They have done a lot of work over the winter – the bar is beautiful! For the important stuff…food was awesome. Make sure and stop in!

Trout fishing was great

Trout fishing was great if you don’t spook’em. Very beautiful camping area. be prepared to pay for a shower with quarters. I understand why, but have quarters. All around awsome! 5.00 for a cord of wood
