Campground description

Located beside historic City Park in Winterset, Iowa, this municipal campground features 40 level gravel RV sites—many with 15/30/50 amp electric and shared water hookups—and five tent-only sites with shared electricity. Rates are very reasonable: $25/night for RV sites, $15/night for tents. Weekly or longer stays (7+ nights) are offered at a reduced rate of $20/night for RV sites (call to book). A $5 reservation fee is required. While most RV sites do not offer sewer hookups, a dump station is available on site (cost not specified). Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit with grill grate. Firewood bundles are available for $5. Amenities include clean vault restrooms and a playground adjacent to the campground within the historic city park. There is a dog park within walking distance. Although no on‑site shower or Wi‑Fi is provided, trash dumpsters are available. Open April through November (March 1 reservations open January 1), with maximum stays of 30 days.
