Mountain River Ranch, nestled alongside the Snake River in Heise, Idaho, is a quiet and family‑oriented getaway operating from April through November. With 64 RV sites, 10 rustic cabins, and 17 tent sites, it caters to a variety of outdoors enthusiasts . Designed for convenience and comfort, RV sites offer 30 amp or 50 amp electric and water hookups and a convenient onsite dump station. Guests enjoy well-maintained restrooms and showers, plus access to laundry, propane, and a central event pavilion. The ranch hosts community events such as dinner shows and encourages activities like fishing, hiking, and visiting nearby hot springs. It’s ideal for both one-night stays and longer seasonal visits, with discounted rates for extended bookings. Pets are welcome but must remain leashed. Located about 29 miles northeast of Idaho Falls, it combines rustic charm with basic resort-style amenities, appealing to those seeking a leisurely retreat in a peaceful riverside setting.

The owners took really good care of us!

We had a class reunion here and stayed the weekend. The owners took really good care of us! The campground was clean, the pavilion was perfect for our needs. They were quick to accommodate all of us! Many of us camped there in the cabins & brought our RV’s. we all enjoyed our stay and had an amazing time. The grassy area was perfect to play games, sit & socialize and have our lunch and dinner on. It was nice having partial hook ups & a dump station right on site. Would recommend this to anyone wanting a lot of shade and near the hot springs, golf course, rzr riding areas, hiking and the great outdoors.

The tripping hazards

Just wrapped up our 2nd family reunion at Mountain River Ranch. We used the pavilion, numerous RV spots, most of the cabins, & a few tent spots. What a great time! “Cousin Red Rzr Rick” was the best camp host we could have could have asked for. He kept the restrooms in good shape, garbage cans cleaned up, and made sure we had plenty of tables at the pavilion too. Couldn’t have asked for a better “cousin” to have taking care of us. Only reason I didn’t give 5 star was the tripping hazards in the pavilion. The concrete slabs have raised up and took a couple of the attendees by surprise to their knees, luckily no injuries. Great location, fun times, and don’t be surprised to see our crazy clan back again in a couple years!

Camped at Mountain River Ranch

I have camped at Mountain River Ranch with family many times over the past 10 years. They have all been wonderful, until this year. This year there were 3 groups of 1B licensed campers who partied until well after midnight on both Friday and Saturday evenings. It was a very sad ending to my many years of enjoyable camping at your facility. Please enforce your own rules!!!!

Beautiful place

We brought our camper and stayed for a wedding. Beautiful place! It was awesome that they have full hookups! Made for an enjoyable stay. Plus there is a dump station for our camper, right on site. The person that checked us in was very friendly and helpful after a long days drive! :) Would love to visit again!

What an amazing little park

What an amazing little park. From the people to the location, just can’t say enough nice things about this place. If you have a chance yoi should definitely stay here. Affordable, beautiful grassy sites, quiet and lots of shade trees. Showers and bathrooms were spotless. Didn’t see the cabins but I’m sure they were lovely as well. Thank you to the owner for letting us check in early, paid cash when we got there and was greeted by our amazing host and his awesome sidekick by the name of Baxter. Thanks guys, had an amazing stay that gave us our much needed rest for the next treck in our journey, just wish I could give you more than five stars!

Really nice genuine people

Just passing through town…. And the camp host Rick got our 40ft MH with 18ft trailer and suburban into a spot for the night ! He was great and so kind! Looks like a great campground, wish we could stay longer! We will definitely remember this one when we travel through again and plan to stay a few nights! Really nice genuine people! Thank you !!
